IV infusions and injections
Intravenous infusions, IV drips with vitamins and medication, plus subcutaneous and intramuscular injections. Procedures are done at our clinic in Riga or in your home.

IV infusions and injections at the clinic or at home
An intravenous infusion, or IV drip, delivers a solution or medication directly into a vein. It enters the bloodstream straight away, so your body quickly gets the fluids, vitamins or medication it needs.
Procedures are performed by a physician assistant or a nurse. The infusion is given in the arm using a butterfly needle or an IV catheter, with medication you bring with you or medication we provide. For medicated infusions, the dose and frequency are set by a doctor or physician assistant.

Frequently asked questions
Didn't find your answer? Give us a call and our physician assistant will help you choose the right procedure.
Can I have an IV infusion at home?
Yes. All infusions and injections except therapeutic phlebotomy can also be done in your home. Travel costs are added for home visits, and we will confirm them when you book.
Can I use my own medication?
Yes. We also give injections and infusions with medication you bring yourself. Bring it in its original packaging together with the doctor’s prescription. Medication provided by the clinic is charged separately, except for infusions with medication, where it is already included in the price.
Do I need a prescription for an infusion?
For infusions with medication, the dose and frequency are set by a doctor or physician assistant. If you have a prescription, bring it with you. If not, book a physician assistant consultation first and we will work out which infusion suits you. Therapeutic phlebotomy is only done on a doctor’s instructions.
What is included in the price?
The price covers checking your prescription and how you feel, preparing the medication, giving it and monitoring you during the procedure. For infusions with medication (iron, magnesium, vitamin C and others) the medication is included, while supplies are charged separately. For IV injections and standard infusions the cost of the medication is not included. Home visits have a travel fee on top.
How long does the procedure take?
An injection takes a few minutes. A 100 to 250 ml infusion usually takes 20 to 40 minutes, and 500 to 1000 ml about an hour or a little longer. Therapeutic phlebotomy takes 40 to 60 minutes. You can sit or lie down comfortably, and a nurse or physician assistant stays close by.
